JODHPUR
Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan. The city has developed in and around the Meherangarh Fort Built by Rao Jodha in 1459. Jodhpue has been a traders dominant city since its existence. The old city of Jodhpur is situated over the sandstone hills and is surrounded by athick wall nearly 10Kms in length. Modern city is built at the foot of the hill, surrounding the fort. Most of the city houses are couloured in blue to reflect the sun light and keep the houses cool. Due to this color, Jodhpur is also called “Blue City”. Another favorite destination of tourists due to its pleasant weather and magnificent architectural marvels.

Meherangarh Fort
The Meherangarh fort is situated atop a sandstone hill about 150 Mts high of the plain ground. It is at 5 km uphill drive from the main city. Meherangarh fort is considered as the most impressive fort in Rajasthan and one of the biggest in India. It was made by Rao Jodha in 1459 to shift his capital from Mandore to Jodhpur. Its imposing walls have withstood many attacks by invading armies, the first gate of the wall is still scarred by cannonball hits. There are several attraction within the fort including palaces, temples, museums and more.
Balsamand Lake 
This lake is an artificial lake built in 1159AD and is around 8 kms from the city. Close to the Lake is Balsamand Palace, built by Maharaja Umaid Singh in 1936, This red stone structure is a magnificent example of Rajputana architecture. On the way to Balsamand lake there is a Hundred pillar temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, Maha Mandir. The pillars are decorated with Yogic postures
Umaid Bhawan Palace
This beautiful palace was build by Maharaja Umaid Singh in 1942 to support around 3000 Famine struck people. The Palace was designed by a British architect and made out of Marble and red sandstone without using any cement or concrete. Today part of the Palace is still houses the royal family. Second part is converted into a Hotel and third part is converted into a Museum displaying some of the ancient paintings, artifacts, pictures, costumes, weaponry of royal family along with stuffed leopards and clock collections.
Jashwant Thada
Jaswant Thada is the traditional cremation site of Jodhpur royal family. This cenotaph was made out of thin sheets of white marble. The Jaswant Thada complex is surrounded by gardens and pools. This structure has beautiful carvings and paintings of some of maharajas fo Jodhpur Royal Family.
